Reference projects
KYOS delivered its modelling and consulting solutions to major companies and organizations all over the world, though with the majority carried out in Europe. Reference projects include:
Quantitative consulting and modelling
For a wide range of energy companies, KYOS developed models and tools to support players in the commodity trading markets. The focus is primarily in the areas of valuation and pricing (power plants, gas storage, gas pipelines, tolling agreements, end-user contracts, supply contracts, etc.), and risk management (risk measurement, hedging strategies, risk allocation, risk pricing). Feel free to ask us for more detailed descriptions.
Market study LNG
KYOS performed a market study on the impact of LNG on the economics of natural gas markets in the next 5-10 years. Amongst others, we studied the likely impact of LNG developments on gas market competition, on the number and type of market participants, and on the products that will be traded. We furthermore looked at physical and regulatory obstacles (congestions) that would impede the natural gas competitiveness.
Developing hourly price curve
We developed a model to forecast future power market prices, up to hourly granularity. The model incorporates fuel market prices, temperatures, light intensity, historical market prices (spot and forward) and the fundamentals of the local power market. The model is used for pricing end user contracts.
Risk management policy
KYOS performed research and consulting for major East-European companies. We developed a risk policy including risk management procedures, which contained a remuneration package for front, middle and back office staff and management.
Load forecasting
We performed a number of projects with the aim to develop methodologies to forecast load and prices. Projects comprise comparative studies and development of analytical software to forecast energy (gas and power) demand of individual customers and of portfolios of customers.
